Challenges, opportunities and issues facing the world’s commercial and naval maritime industries will be detailed in a major global conference as apart of Australia’s Pacific 2000 International Maritime Exhibition in Sydney in February 1-4, 2000. This first of its type in the Asia Pacific Region, the exhibition will be a leading industry and professional forum, providing exhibitors, participants and visitors with a unique opportunity to meet peers, potential suppliers and customers, to develop networks and exchange ideas and information.

An expected 90 papers by leading maritime experts from 16 nations will be presented during the three-day Sea Australia 2000 conference. All major aspects of sea transportation and operation will be analysed, including latest developments and future trends. Fast transportation, for both commercial and naval craft, will be a highlight of the conference.

The program is also expected to feature some 26 papers devoted to naval design and technology, including such novel concepts as the trimaran warship. Experts in the area of safety and environment will deal with those important subjects over a number of sessions.
