PC-based Radar

PC-based Radar

IRIS radar offers an innovation in radar technology opening up new possibilities for the general marine market. The radar display provides quality video and uses advanced signal processing techniques enabling operation in rain and sea clutter. The on-screen user-friendly Windows interface creates a familiar look and feel. IRIS radar has NMEA standard inputs for ship’s navigation data and when linked to a chart plotter is able to display radar and charts simultaneously.

The long-range detection characteristics of IRIS allow isolating and clarifying individual targets giving the skipper accurate environmental information at all times. This ability to cut through sea clutter is further enhanced by better compensation for boat movement. IRIS is versatile – apart from marine applications it can be adapted as a key component of offshore surveillance systems used to monitor oilfield safety or ensure effective EEZ policing. It is ideal for small boat applications such as search and rescue, coast guard and pilot boats. The system can also be utilised as a portable radar display for temporary or covert surveillance applications. It makes commercial-grade radar available at a competitive price and facilitates easy system integration.
