Quiet Exhaust System for Survey Vessel

Halyard Marine (UK), a company specializing in the design and manufacture of marine engine exhaust silencing solutions, has helped achieve lower noise levels on the Thames with a new exhaust system fitted to a Port of London Authority (PLA) survey vessel Verifier. At its latest refit, Verifier has been fitted with new Caterpillar C32 engines and a specially-designed Halyard exhaust system. This has made a substantial cut in “pass-by” noise and internal reverberation.

Noise and vibration must be minimised on Verifier to achieve the best results from the vessel’s hydrographic equipment, as well as keeping external noise levels at a minimum. The improved Halyard exhaust system helps to ensure the surveys of the tidal Thames are completed effectively and with a greater degree of comfort for the crew.
