Input from industry and shippers will provide a major new dimension at the RORO 2000 exhibition and conference in Gothenburg from May 23-25 by showcasing the sector's growth potential in the door-to-door logistics chain. Adding to its rank as the leading technical forum on roll-on/roll-off and horizontal handling methods, the 15th staging of the event will also focus on maximising business opportunities in response to sweeping commercial and political changes.
“We are extending the scope beyond design and engineering to help the industry address the economic implications of an unprecedented wave of market and legislative challenges," says exhibition manager, Craig Moyes of organiser Lloyd's List Events.
"RORO 2000 will highlight key influences including customer demand for seamless intermodal services, the impact of high-speed ferries and fixed links; safety and environmental upgrades, and European Union decisions to foster a modal shift to sea transport, end flag-protective cabotage and abolish the duty-free system."
The RORO 2000 web-site on www.roroex.com features a Virtual Exhibition giving access to the floor plan, individual stands and exhibitors' own web-sites. News updates, the conference agenda, accommodation, travel and city details are also included together with on-line visitor and delegate registration facilities.
Social activities include an evening cruise to Denmark on board a Stena HSS hosted by the event's main sponsors - Stena RoRo, DFDS Tor Line, MacGREGOR, the Port of Gothenburg and West Sweden Seaports.
Visitors can also pro-register on the Visitor Hotline - +44 (0)1923 690686 - while stand bookings can be made via Craig Moyes on Tel: +44 (0)171 453 2233 or Fax: +44 (0)171 453 2231.
