Reducing Costs in Shipbuilding

Tribon M2 Shipbuilding system offers new features to further reduce time and costs in shipbuilding. The applications for machinery, piping, outfit and cabling have been extensively enhanced. The new Data Management leads to safer and better management of the Tribon Product Information Model (PIM). The company claims that the new features will lead to an earlier start of production and to major overall savings.

Tribon M2 Data Management is a solution to fully control the development, approval and release of design data in a project. The application can be used for projects both inside and outside the design department in a shipyard according to the authority rules for the specific shipyard. The solution will lead to major savings in administration of large projects where changes are frequent. The outfitting applications in Tribon M2 are used for the design and parts manufacturing information for machinery, piping, outfit and cabling. The applications help to minimise design errors, can be used in a multi user environment and have on line connections to both hull and diagram data. Automatic assembly drawings provide information directly from the Tribon Product Information Model to specific workshops in the assembly phase of shipbuilding. This will reduce the need to create drawings in the design department which will lead to major savings in this department in the order of 10 to 20 percent of time and man-hours. The production can start much earlier with all the savings that this will allow.
