Temp-Set® Covers can be constructed for any temperature and are ideally suited for any area that requires frequent maintenance. Standard applications include heat exchangers, valves, manways, flanges, pumps and turbines. All covers are custom designed and guaranteed to fit closely so as to minimize heat loss.
At the very core of the Temp-Set® Covers is a needled glass fiber, which is ordinarily used for temperatures up to 1200°F. For temperatures up to 2300°F, a ceramic fiber insulation is available. Depending on the application, the thickness of the fiber core can vary from one to four inches. For the covering of the fiber core, a siliconized glass fabric is usually used. It is impervious to fuel and water. The total composite is encapsulated in 304 stainless steel mesh. Temp-Set Removable Insulation Covers reduce engine room temperature, noise levels and fire hazard significantly. Conventional insulation systems lack the flexibility to withstand the vibration associated with engine room equipment. For this reason Temp-Set is well suited for the extreme vibrations of expansion joints, manifolds, turbochargers, turbines, piping, etc. More information: SEI
