Roll Fin Stabilizers

WESMAR announced the launch of their 2001-2002 Roll Fin Stabilizer line at the recent Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. The company says the new line includes four additional fin sizes, a faster electronic gyro, and technology upgrades in the console that place greater power and control of the vessel’s comfort in the hands of the captain.

New low-profile fins include a 2.5 and a 3.5 square foot design with a low-profile actuator and a small 5-gallon hydraulic tank. This new compact design allows installation in smaller spaces and opens the stabilizer market to boats under 45 feet. The new line also includes heavy duty 16 and 22 square foot fin designs for larger and faster high performance vessels. The larger fins include a 5.5-inch stainless steel shaft that provides added strength to handle the larger fins. New electronic gyro system, rotating at speed of 1000 times per second, provides instantaneous information about the roll velocity and acceleration directly to the hydraulic control system that corrects the roll and stabilizes the vessel immediately.
