The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and The Maritime Group – publishers of Maritime Reporter & Engineering News, MarineNews, and the Maritime Security Sourcebook – announced a new partnership to help increase attendance and exhibitors at the IMExpo, held in conjunction with SNAME’s Annual Conference. This year’s IMExpo – dubbed the World Maritime Technology Conference and Exposition – is scheduled for October 18-20, 2003, at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, California. The Maritime Group will now be responsible for selling booth space for the IMExpo, while SNAME retains all control once the booths are sold.
SNAME will still administrate the show, handle the accounting, and plan all of the details. An estimated 1,000 delegates from 10 countries will converge on San Francisco and, at a single conference, discuss both technical and business topics affecting the maritime industry. The World Maritime Technology Conference will provide a forum for discussion and exchange on issues related to the future of the global maritime industry.
The technical program promises to deliver informative technical sessions, interactive panel discussions, topical debate and an exposition by leaders in the maritime industry. Many major maritime policy changes on the national and international levels have recently been enacted or proposed, making the World Maritime Technology Conference and Exposition perfectly timed to stay ahead of critical technical and business issues affecting the industry.
