SeaLion Marine Seals

Thordon Bearings recently introduced SeaLion marine mechanical face seals at the SMM Exhibition in Hamburg, Germany in September.

As an integral and essential component of Thordon’s stern tube bearing systems, SeaLion seals are specially designed to operate with either water or Thor-Lube lubrication. Thordon SeaLion seals feature a rotating carbon-graphite face running against a stationary chromium alloy steel mating face resulting in extended life and enhanced protection against loss of lubricating liquid.
Simple, yet rugged, SeaLion seals provide leak free performance through the wide range of movements typically experienced in a propeller shaft application. The addition of SeaLion marine seals to Thordon’s environmentally friendly COMPAC and Thor-Lube stern tube bearing system solutions allows Thordon to offer customers a fully integrated, guaranteed solution that totally eliminates the risk of stern tube oil pollution.
