Aker Finnyards delivered as "Norstream", the 11,500 dwt ro-ro carrier for the Dutch company Bore Stream BV (27 October 1999). The vessel is designed mainly for transporting trailers , trucks and containers. It is designed for fast loading and unloading, and is equipped with two stern ramps.

The capacity of the vessel is 2,600 lane metres, that is 2.6 kilometres of loading space. Other main particulars are: length 180 metres, beam 25.2 m, draught 6.5 m, and speed 20 knots. The main engine power of 18,900 kW is produced by two medium-speed diesel engines.

Aker Finnyards has considerable experience in building roll on - roll off and ro-ro passenger ferries. Most of the fifty ro-ro vessels delivered from the yard since 1970 are still operating in the original or similar traffic for which they were designed.
