ShipRepair & Conversion Update

      11/14/2002

ShipRepair & Conversion Update

With less than two weeks to go to ShipRepair & Conversion 2002, preparations for the event are nearing completion. The organizers, Lloyd’s List Events, announced an international list of over 250 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, which include the leading ship repair, maintenance and conversion suppliers and specialists. As well as the regular companies that exhibit at ShipRepair & Conversion year on year, this year's event will host a number of new companies, adding to the high profile list of exhibitors that visitors can expect to meet and do business with.

Analysis from of pre-show reports has revealed that registrations at 5 weeks out this year, are more than double in comparison to the same time last year. As is the case with all exhibitions, it is the quality of the visitor that counts. Key European shipowners and ship managers have already pre-registered to attend. Running alongside the exhibition is the ShipRepair & Conversion Conference. Paneled debate sessions will provide incisive yet practical information delivered by the leading industry experts, whilst facilitating audience interaction.

Key Topics and Presentations will include:

  • State of the industry debate and strategic review of the ship repair and conversion markets
  • Repair yard selection, practices and satisfaction
  • Ship maintenance practices, cost/budget issues and technologies
  • Setting up a new shipyard, benefits and drawbacks of alliances and how to improve performance.
  • Commercial considerations, liabilities, safety standards and environmental issues facing today's shipyards.
