Ships Benefit from After Sales Agreements

      5/10/1999

Last year 185 ships joined those already benefiting from MacGREGOR after sales hatch cover agreements, which support through-life efficiency and safety, and can cover spare parts, inspection, maintenance, and partnership arrangements. Customers signing Spare Parts Agreements are assured competitive, firm and common prices worldwide throughout the year, secure in the knowledge that the parts are manufactured to MacGREGOR's certified quality standards and specifications. Additionally, they are guaranteed availability of spares. Ordering spares is a simplified process, and no logistics problems are faced by the customer whose special requirements are addressed. An e-mail connection to MacGREGORS companies is possible, facilitating an even faster service. An Inspection Agreement can deliver overall annual savings of 20 per cent on maintenance costs thanks to: reduced working hours; use of MacGREGORS bulk supplies; transportation cost savings; and work performed where and when the customer prefers. A Maintenance Agreement secures regular maintenance of the hatch covers and reports with recommendations. MacGREGOR undertakes to: carry out maintenance of the hatch covers for the customer's ships according to the agreement; carry out maintenance according to an agreed programme for each ship at agreed ports; provide technical assistance and advice to shipboard personnel on request when attending the vessel; and keep a maintenance history of the hatch covers included in the agreement. Partnership Agreements are tailored to the customer's needs and often embrace inspection, spare parts and maintenance agreements. More information: Lloyds List
