Shiptec China, formerly Shiport China, is sponsored by China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, China Shipowners' Association, The Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and Dalian Municipal People's Government. Founded in 1998, Shiptec China has grown into the largest and most influential maritime industry fair in Northeast Asia. It will be playing a much more important role to link up different sectors and industry players of ports, shipping and shipbuilding and to drive a healthy and sustained development of the world maritime industry.

Its previous edition held in 2008 attracted 462 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, over 12,000 professional visitors. The gross exhibition area reached 20,000 square meters. In 2010, the fair ground will be accommodating as many as 550 exhibitors, and over 15,000 visitors will witness the innovations of the maritime industry to be displayed at Shiptec China 2010. More national pavilions will be here with us including China, Japan, Korea, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Finland etc. High level conferences and forums will be held alongside the main exhibition under the same ceiling.
