Spill Response Boat

JBF Environmental Technology has announced the delivery of the first JBF DIP400/420 class Oil Spill Response Boat to the Tunisian Agence Nationale de Protection de l'Environnement (ANPE). JBF was selected by ANPE to build the boat, primarily based on their commitment to have the equipment actually pick up spilled oil. They have had a long experience with oil skimmers, which simply didn't work. As the problems and concerns with oil spills and protection of the environment increased, ANPE, along with many other customers in Tunisia were looking for spill response equipment, that was more than just talk. The technical engineers at ANPE found that JBF's Dynamic Inclined Plane (DIP) skimmer could meet their tough requirements. ANPE first looked at retrofitting one of their existing boats, but found this would not give them the performance or utility that they required.
A key feature of this boat is that it is fully built and inspected by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and is classed A1@ HSC. ABS classification of small boats is extremely rare, however, the result is a boat that is 3-4 times the quality, structure, and strength of a normal, un-classed workboat.
