Stern Landing Vessels

Sea Transport Solutions have developed and proven a Stern Landing Vessel (S.L.V.) design to overcome the usual operational problems common amongst conventional landing craft.
Typical shortcomings of a conventional landing craft are:
1. Poor Head-sea capabilities due to bow ramp slamming, resulting in dramatic reduction in speed.
2. Inferior Crew Comfort due to accommodation being directly above machinery spaces.
3. Inadequate power available when de-beaching due to propellers being operated in a highly inefficient mode (reverse).
4. Poor forward visibility due to bow ramp.

The commercial applications for Sea Transport Design's S.L.V. designs are the same as with the conventional landing craft, with the exception that the S.L.V. design has overcome the above-mentioned operational problems. Thereby making it suitable for a vastly increased number of applications, particularly in heavier seas and more remote type environments. Stern Landing Vessel design sizes range from the 15m S.L.V. up to our 110 metre long 5000 tones cargo deadweight S.L.V.
