Support for Shipping/Work Boat World Asia

Support for Shipping/Work Boat World Asia

The Asian Shipping/Work Boat World Asia 2003 Conference and Exhibition has gained support of the major local industry associations - the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI), the Association of Marine Industries of Malaysia (AMIM) and the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA). This major event to be held at Suntec Singapore from February 18-20, 2003, is aimed at owners and operators of all shapes and sizes of commercial, government and military vessels and at port managers.

“Following our very successful Work Boat World Asia events held in Singapore in 1999 and 2001, we have widened our scope to incorporate cargo ships and warships of all sizes as well as port activity,” said Neil Baird, Chairman of the organising company, Baird Publications. “All the various sectors of the maritime industry have so much in common that this expanded focus was a simply logical move,” Mr. Baird said. “We are delighted to again have ASMI aboard as they were very welcome supporters of the two previous events. The fact that AMIM and SSA are also now supporters is particularly gratifying. They are also very important regional organisations,” Mr. Baird concluded.
