Swedish Storebro Bruks, exclusive motor cruisers builder, have signed a contract with the Danish Naval Material Command for delivery of four units of the special task craft SRC 90E. The craft offers a combination of lightweight, high speed with load capacity in excess of 2000 kg. It has compact measurements and water-jet propulsion system makes it suitable for travelling also in narrow and shallow waters.

The SRC 90E with an overall length of 40 feet (12 meters) is built in a composite laminate with carbon-fibre and a vinylester resin to give a strong and yet light weight boat capable of travelling at speeds up to 40 knots. In its basic configuration the craft can carry 10 seated persons or four stretchers or combinations of seats and stretchers. It may perform a variety of tasks such as security patrols, search and rescue, ambulance transports and water taxi.
The SRC90E in its Danish version will be operated from a new type of ships called Flexible Support Ships. The Danish Navy will procure two of these ships, and each ship will be capable of carrying two SRC 90E.

The SRC 90E will be stored inside the Flexible Support Ship on a multi purpose cargo deck and launched aft via a special crane. It will be used for transportation of personnel and cargo, survey of harbour entrance routes and harbours, rescue missions, military surveillance tasks, insertion of soldiers and transportation of wounded personnel.
