The Olympic Voyager Ready for Trials
The cruise liner is the first of two almost identical 4-star cruise liners built for Royal Olympic Cruises by Blohm+Voss, in Hamburg. Olympic Voyager’s inaugural Mediterranean season begins June 24 with twin-ship Olympic Explorer, scheduled for delivery in 2001.
The ships' propulsion plant comprises two propellers converting the total engine power of 50,000 HP into thrust producing a cruising speed of 27 knots of the comfortable 24,500 GRT cruise liner. The special monohull shape, which is a development of Blohm+Voss, allows a highly economical operation even at high speed. |  |
