Tribon.com Release 4.0 introduced improvements that will particularly benefit shipyards facilitating more efficient communication with suppliers and handling of technical enquiries. System suppliers can now present their products, solutions and capabilities in a more transparent manner. Release 4.0 also provides an effective search index for shipyard designers to find relevant information about systems being designed. In addition to the 200 suppliers who have already uploaded their product information on Tribon.com, it is possible to access approximately 600 other shipyard preferred vendors through the general supplier directory.
Supplier components, products and equipment found on Tribon.com are structured in a browser tree. The browser tree is structured to suit shipyards’ contract specifications. All components and equipment have their own relevant search attributes. The new technical enquiry function is built on the browser tree structure meaning that a shipyard designer can create a technical enquiry via Tribon.com, with the relevant technical attributes for a certain product already predefined in a template. The designer can also add own attachments and specific questions. System descriptions can, in Tribon.com release 4.0, be connected to the browser tree structure and thus found when searching using relevant attributes. The overall presentation of a system can be made with a flexible layout of text and pictures with dynamic links to number of components suitable for use together within a specific system.
