New Century Shipbuilding, formerly known as Jingjiang Shipbuilding (China), has recently purchased the Tribon M1 Shipbuilding system for design and production of ships at its shipyard in Jingjiang City. This investment is part of the comprehensive reconstruction and modernisation of the yard transforming it to a brand new state-of-the-art facility. New Century Shipbuilding is now able to build 300.000 dwt VLCCs in the larger of its two new docks, 360m x 76m, which is served by a 600 tonne gantry crane. The new stepped drydock of 220m x 63m has a unique construction facility enabling ships construction on two levels.

Since Dalian Shipyard became the first customer of Tribon Solutions in China 1990, the number of customers has been growing continuously. Today more than 40 shipbuilding companies in China are using design and information systems from Tribon Solutions.
In addition, more than 30 Chinese shipyards have signed up for Tribon.com - the neutral Internet service for the maritime industry linking together shipyards, maritime equipment suppliers and ship owners in a comprehensive global network. Many shipbuilders in China see possibilities to further improve productivity and efficiency by a close and quick interaction between ship designers and suppliers from both China and worldwide.
