Underwater Intervention 2000 Starts


Underwater Intervention 2000 starts today. The event will be held from January 24-26, 2000, at the Adams Mark Hotel in Houston, Texas. For the eighth consecutive year, Underwater Intervention is co-sponsored by the ROV Committee of the Marine Technology Society (MTS/ROV) and the Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc.

On Monday morning the Technical Sessions and exhibit areas are open. Monday evening features receptions being hosted by companies in the underwater industry. Tuesday morning, in addition to Technical Sessions and exhibits, the Tutorial programs commence. The MTS/ROV committee is sponsoring "Deepwater Challenges for ROV Intervention", featuring 11 industry experts in aworkshop-type setting. ADC International is sponsoring "Introduction to Commercial Diving." There will also be an ROV demonstration in the hotel pool at noon on Tuesday. Conference attendees are asked to NOT leave early on Wednesday, because this year's conference features a full Technical Program through the end of the day. Featured events on Wednesday include a full day of sessions onShipwreck Exploration and Salvage, a full day of sessions on Submarine Cable, and a Panel on ROV Use in Inland Waters.
