With fewer crews becoming the norm at sea, today's seafarers must be multi-skilled in their abilities. Welding comes into the scope of everyday onboard activities. To provide non-specialist welders with an easy to use electrode for basic onboard maintenance, Unitor introduced four new welding electrodes to its comprehensive marine welding range. The new electrodes ensure better welding quality and faster work rates, even on difficult jobs.

• SPECIAL 303-N is a low hydrogen, double-coated electrode for the welding of unalloyed and low alloyed ship quality steel. The 2mm-diameter version of this electrode is especially suited for the welding of thin steel plate.
• LHH-314H is a high recovery basic type of electrode for unalloyed and low alloyed ship quality steels. This electrode is easy to use in the flat position for contact welding.
• GPR-300H is a high recovery rutile electrode for unalloyed steels. This electrode is easy to use in the horizontal position with a speed of up to 50cm/min.
• LHR-320N is a low hydrogen, basic electrode for welding of weather resistant steel. This electrode has good corrosion resistance to seawater and flue gases and is suitable for steels where protective coatings are prone to wear.
