Virtual Reality Bridge System

M.O. Marine Consulting developed an advanced virtual reality system that authentically re-creates the sights, sounds, and motion of the bridge of a modern merchant ship. Five projectors show a ground-level view of the coastline, which changes constantly as the ship maneuvers. The system can be programmed to depict the world's major ports with an incredible level of detail, right down to winds, tides, and other variables. M.O. Marine Consulting believes the simulator will prove indispensable in setting safe ship operation standards, evaluating designs for vessels and port facilities, and training shipboard personnel and harbor pilots to navigate the world's increasingly congested shipping lanes.
