Conference Papers Warship 2000 - Warships for Amphibious Operations & Minewarfare are now available from The Royal Institution of Naval Architects. Providing tactical, strategic and logistical capabilities autonomously or in support of other services, amphibious forces are essential to any attempt at 'power projection'. Recent events in Kosovo and East Timor showed that amphibious forces are vital to meeting the requirements of the 'peacekeeping' operations. Countering the hazards posed by mine warfare is vital for the successful deployment of amphibious forces. These issues were discussed at the Warship 2000 conference held in London in June 2000.
