Web Based Procurement System

Star Information Systems AS (SIS) introduces SISCommerce, a new B2B e-procurement solution for the marine industry. The system has been developed in close co-operation with 4 shipping and offshore companies: Odfjell ASA, Wallenius Lines AB, Ocean Rig ASA, and Norwegian Gas Carriers AS. The first transactions through SISCommerce were made by Ocean Rig ASA on May 16th. SIS expects that more than 250 vessels and rigs from existing customers shortly can use SISCommerce.

The objectives with SISCommerce are to improve efficiency and data quality for the purchasing process. The solution is a back office system for the fleet and ship management software which already includes material administration with inventory control on board, requisition system, inquiries to vendors, purchase orders, forwarding, quality control and receipt of goods, with cost control.
