WinCAT is helping naval engineers from the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center, based in Washington DC, meet the routine workload and the demanding challenges involved with keeping the vast US Navy fleet and other auxiliary vessels safely at anchor - all over the world.
A group of mooring engineers who work for the Department have recently kited-up with the Pisys "WinCAT" software, taking several licenses for office based PCs and laptops used on field assignments.

Asked to comment on the software, department head John R Pittman writes; "We find WINCAT to be an excellent compliment to our software library. It has an excellent GUI and is very user friendly."
WinCAT is PC Windows software for the analysis of hanging cable systems - such as offshore moorings, umbilicals and flexible risers. Running on any Microsoft Windows PC (32 Bit), WinCAT brings sophisticated and complex catenary analysis to the desktop of any offshore practitioner who needs to get the job done fast. Easy to use, accurate and reliable in operation, WinCAT is ready to perform both onshore and offshore in design analysis, installation studies, anchor laying, rig moves, sub-sea operations and many, many more applications.
