Yellow Sea Transportation System

The Regional Research Center for Transportation System of the Yellow Sea (CTYS) in Korea develops a hybrid transportation system for Yellow Sea region (Inchon area), promotes transport and related machinery industry within the region, and provides training and education for technical personnel.

The CTYS specific research areas addressing an overall transportation system for the Yellow Sea region include:
  • Multi-modal Transportation and Cargo System
  • Development of High Speed Ships suitable for the region
  • Multi-modal Train Ferry Transportation System
  • Development of the Optimum Refrigerating Container System for Live Fish Transportation
The CTYS will guide development of fundamental technologies in cooperation with the regional industries. In addition, the center will improve the region's international competitiveness by developing the most appropriate transportation model for the Yellow Sea region. The new transportation system, designed to serve the region into the next century, will encompass Inchon International Airport, Inchon Port, and the Han River.
