The Association of Maritime Education & Training Institutions in Asia Pacific (AMETIAP) is a network of providers with over 80 members established in 1996

  • AMETIAP arose from the need to support the aims and objectives of IMO and recognition of the vital importance of maritime education and training in meeting the needs of expanding trade in the region
  • AMETIAP aims to promote, develop and support in the spirit of cooperation the common interests of its members in all matters concerning the development and quality of maritime education and training
  • AMETIAP is a viable growing network assisting interaction between providers and with other stakeholders in maritime transport and the preservation of the marine environment.
The maritime education and training institutions in Asia Pacific have, of their own accord, created a viable network with major potential to assist the development of maritime education and training in the region.
