The Engineering Council is the leading body for the engineering profession. In partnership with engineering institutions, the Council is responsible for regulating and promoting the profession in order to maintain a world class engineering force.
On behalf of the profession, the Council speaks on national issues where a single powerful voice is needed. the Council is committed to forging links with Government, industry and academe.
In addition, the Council and the Institutions work together to enhance the public perception of engineering.
The Council works to ensure the brightest and best young people recognise engineering as a viable and highly regarded career option.
The Engineering Council was established by Royal Charter in 1981.
